On a sunny afternoon, Napolean (WebWednesday) introduced me to a local dive embedded between street markets and other local merchants. Plastered with photographs from Hong Kong celebrities, Lan Fong Yuen is a lunch favorite for those working in bustling Central (downtown) district.

Opting for a seat with the most charming vibe, we decided to grab some stools and sit right in front of their beverage kitchen. The drinks are revered, each made with an exceptional quality.

The Hong Kong milk tea was on target. Made with a secret technique, the velvety drink was on target. Another Hong Kong favorite, the lemon ice tea, featured sour lemons that mixed well with fragrant tea.

Arriving in a playful bowl, the chicken noodle arrives. Neatly fanned out, the tender chicken is flavorful. Mixed with green onions for crunch and earth tones, the noodles are just nominal.

I prefer a noodle with more character, as oppose to a noodle that appears like instant noodles. Overall, a must visit just for the charm and hype of this institutional Hong Kong café.
