Tokyo is an amazing place. The bright lights and vibrant culture just makes the senses go wild.

Having a limited budget, I learned to travel on a budget. My new best friend, ramen: the comfort food king. Yearning for the nearest experience in San Frnacisco, I had my virgin experience at Tanpopo.

Sitting at the noodle counter, the pork ramen noodle arrived just a few minutes after ordering. Sipping the savory broth, I began to sweet.

Just like tap dancing, I had my technique down. Left hand holding spoon while the right gentle cuddles each strain of noodle.

After a few occasional wipes on the forehead, I continued my adventure.
Tender pork slices added depth while crunchy bamboo shots rounded out the dish.

Major side actors added to my adventure.

The himachi (yellowtail) sashimi fanned charmingly displayed cool buttery texture that demonstrated why raw fish in its purest form taste so great.

Japanese waitresses were pleasant and attentive. The total for two was $30, I’ll be back especially on foggy days.

Remember, slurping signals to the chef that the ramen is delicious.

Note: Tanpopo serves better ramen than Katana Ya in San Francisco.
