On a rainy day like today, I crave comfort food. With the chilling rain pouring down, hot pot comes to mind. Something special arises when a few friends join together and gather around the table. A few weeks ago, I had great hot pot with tender beef.
Tools:
1 pot
1 propane gas burner
1 can of propane
Few pairs of chop stickers
Ladles
Ingredients: {can be found at most Asian super markets or Asian aisle in mainstream super market}
Marble beef {ask for thin slices for fast cooking}
Enoki mushroom
Shrimp
Tofu
Shitake Mushroom
Dipping sauce: mix Ponzu (Kikoman brand is delicious) or soy sauce with chopped onions.
Instructions: put desired ingredients into ladle and cook into the hot pot. For added flavor, substitute pour two cans of Swanson chicken broth into the pot. To avoid cross contamination, designate a few chopsticks used to handle raw food only.
Eating hot pot is all about giving the diners control. They choose the wellness of the ingredients.
Restaurant hot pot: My pick for delicious hot pot is Little Sheep and Shabuway
