Campusfork.
Welcome back, stronger than ever.
The community wanted two things: (entertaining blog) + (restaurant search).
Here’s the blog, just to dangle the carrot.
To those who are new, a BIG “Aloha”

Hollywood.
Two weeks ago, I flew down to L.A. for an eating tour (a.k.a. PIG FEST). After landing at LAX, I speed on the freeway in my maroon Carolla to Culver City on the 405. Craving munchies, I started my food tour at Tito’s Tacos.

Food.
Prices reflect the food. With a crispy fried shell, the tacos are crispy on the outside and the filling is hearty. The taco’s lack substance. Substance meaning onion -for crunch & tomataoes-for sweetness. This is drunk food and not meant for the culinary Gods. Skip the enchiladas. The sauce lacks flavor and reminded me of the Mexican microwave enchiladas I ate in middle school. With a flavorful bean sauce, the chicken tamale is worth a try. The corn meal filling balances well with ground chicken. With a watery consistency, the salsa is just nominal.

Great place for junk food crave but make sure to keep your “hot culinary date” miles away from this place.

Restaurant consultant hat:
Located near the freeway, the location is golden. More importantly, Tito’s brands itself having one major food item: taco’s. People hate to think, so they know ordering the taco must be good. Its a smart play. The customer base also phsychological affirms the place. Look around, “even the Mexicans eat there.” Does it make Tito’s good. Not really, but damm good for business. A convenient ATM machine kills all excuse to load up on this Mexican joint. Walk a few hundred yards down, a Mexican restaurant has no business.
Why? It lacks a few things.

(ATM machine) + (cheap prices) + (open late) + (brand item:taco) + (off freeway 405) + (strong word of mouth) = good business

Prices.
Each meal comes with friend tortilla chips and salsa.
taco with cheese-$2
enchilada - $2.50
chicken tamale -$2.50
